Islamabad: Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) have formally inked a historic free trade agreement (FTA) following the successful conclusion of their last negotiating session in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The joint statement for the Pakistan-GCC FTA was signed by Caretaker Commerce Minister Dr. Gohar Ejaz and GCC Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi.
In a joint statement, both parties expressed their eagerness for the swift signing, ratification, and execution of the agreement, which is poised to usher in a new era in their economic relations. The final round of negotiations took place at the GCC Headquarters in the Saudi capital from September 26 to 28.
