On Monday, Pakistan’s military officially shared details of its retaliatory operation, “Bunyanum Marsoos”, launched in response to what it described as unprovoked and deadly attacks by Indian forces that killed numerous Pakistani civilians, including women and children, during overnight strikes on May 6 and 7, 2025.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was Pakistan’s direct military answer to what it called brutal and deliberate acts of aggression by India. “We had promised justice for our people—and we have fulfilled that promise,” the military’s statement read, thanking God for the success and resilience shown by the armed forces.

The statement paid tribute to the lives lost, offering prayers for the deceased and the injured. It expressed deep gratitude to every member of the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force for their bravery and dedication, which led to what was described as a successful and decisive operation.

The military also thanked the people of Pakistan for standing firm during the conflict. It highlighted the youth’s efforts in countering disinformation online, referring to them as frontline warriors in the digital space.

In addition, the statement praised Pakistan’s media for standing strong against what it called hostile and misleading narratives from Indian outlets. Scientists and engineers were also commended for their role in developing homegrown military technologies that contributed to the operation’s success.

Pakistan’s armed forces further acknowledged the unified support from political leaders across party lines and gave special thanks to the Prime Minister and his cabinet for their firm and timely leadership during the crisis.
