PCB ditches head coach title

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has undergone a coaching overhaul, now opting for a “captain of the ship” instead of a conventional “skipper.” Mickey Arthur has been selected to command this newly established role.

The move to do away with the head coach came as the PCB wants to work hand-in-hand with specialized assistant coaches for batting, bowling, and fielding.

The coaching staff will be guided by former South African cricketer, Arthur. It’s speculated that Grant Bradburn, a former Test cricketer from New Zealand, will also make a return to the Pakistan cricket setup. Bradburn, who was previously the fielding mentor from 2018 to 2020, is speculated to become a supporting coach for the Pakistan men’s team.
