KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded fresh elections to ensure respect for the people’s mandate.

Addressing a large rally in Karachi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman rejected the results of the general elections on February 8, 2024, saying that the elections were staged to fill the assemblies with those fighting for power.

He said that some organizations believed that JUI(F) would get tired and would not be able to protest against election rigging. He said that our struggle is not for one day and one month, his heirs will continue the struggle.

The JUI(F) chief said that the assemblies formed after the February 8 elections were fake and added that the assemblies were sold. The Sindh Assembly and the President’s House were also sold.

He said that the people sitting in power have made Pakistan a slave of America and said that Pakistan is self-sufficient in capable people and natural resources.

Fazlur Rehman said that democracy has ended in the country. He said that we are loyal to Pakistan and JUI(F) is not fighting for power but for people’s rights and national integrity.
