President Dr. Arif Alvi sent back the National Accountability (Amendment) Bill 2023 to Parliament for reconsideration.
According to source, the President sent the bill back to the Parliament under Article 75 A B of the Constitution, Arif Alvi’s objection has been said that the amendment made in the National Accountability Ordinance 1999 is under hearing in the Supreme Court.

The President raised the objection that further amendments to the National Accountability Ordinance 1999 should be reconsidered without considering the impact of the pending matter in the Bill, while this aspect was not referred to in the Bill and the Prime Minister’s Advice.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had sent the bill to the President for approval under Article 75 of the Constitution.
