Culture is the way of life of a nation. It comprises preferences, adaptations and essential absorptions of environment, faiths and beliefs. It covers the life aspects of hundreds and thousands of years. The process of culture amalgamates belief systems, economic compulsions, aesthetical pronouncements and developmental changes. The attributes are language, dress, beliefs, family, economy and inter-coalition. Hence, the historical process determines the orientation of culture.

Pakistan is an Indus land. It has a long history. Several tribes, local and foreign, have ruled the land and, thus, have played a significant part in evolving culture. Therefore, it has an indigenous, arab, and central Asian flavour in the compilation of a culture. An essential part of the culture is music. Pakistan is rich in music despite severe fundamentalist challenges. Even sufi music played a pivotal role in meeting the spiritual requirements of the people when they turned Muslims.

However, there needs to be more clarity in asserting the cultural boundaries of Pakistan. The role of religion is dominant in this regard. The propellers of the argument state that any cultural activity against the spirit of religion is non-cultural. Therefore, the culture in Pakistan has been defined narrowly. Despite all challenges, the artistic way of life is moving forward slowly. The music is still progressing, and coke studio is manifesting it. The art of poetry is also an essential part of the culture of Pakistan. However, the standards in poetry have fallen, and Pakistan needs to produce quality poets and writers.

However, the worst part is the decline of national and regional languages. International languages, especially English, provide daunting challenges to Urdu, and the latter provides challenges to the local languages. Language is the gateway of a culture. If Urdu and local languages are restored, the cultural identity of Pakistan shall stay intact. Therefore, state organizations must work to promote national and regional languages.

There is also a dire need to promote the local dress code. A dress is the output of the cultural environment. Therefore, it is critical the dress codes of Pakistan, whether national or regional, should be promoted. The foods, rituals, rites, traditions, and ceremonies of the local culture needs to be promoted. The challenge of globalization is enormous. It is challenging to sustain the impacts of globalization. However, it does not mean allowing a complete absorption of local culture with that of global cultures. Pakistan must focus on preserving, expanding and promoting its indigenous culture.https://republicpolicy.com/creativity-the-missing-factor-in-pakistan/
